The library media centre provides a wide range of quality resources in different formats, including a fiction and non-fiction collection of nearly 20,000 volumes in English and mother tongue languages, databases, ebooks and e-readers. The library programme promotes lifelong reading for information and pleasure and teaches information and digital literacy skills across the lower and upper schools. The programme supports all three IB programmes and the IB learner profile's attributes and attitudes.
The library media centre is the heart of the ISH community. It welcomes students, staff and families. It plans a range of annual events that celebrate all aspects of books and reading. These include author visits, family activities, spoken word poetry events and a weeklong I Love Reading week, which encourages the support and participation of other members of staff and ISH parents. The library media centre offers space for all visitors to actively engage and work with others while at the same time providing cozy spaces for reading and quiet study.
